Vehicle Extrication Training

July 10, 2017

Thanks to Ernie's Towing for providing us with vehicles to train with this past week. Our rookies, plus a student shadowing us for the day, got to learn how to operate the jaws and see how quickly and smoothly we can rescue a victim trapped in a vehicle. Watch how this minivan is completely opened up.

Wearing our boots

October 12, 2016

Yesterday we hosted an afternoon of training with two members of City Council and the Safety Director.  We invited the Mayor, and all of city council, but unfortunately the turnout was smaller than we hoped.  But the training was successful, and it was encouraging to have them walk around in our boots for a couple hours.  The Morning Journal and Chronicle reporters both had an eye-opening experience as well and wrote good stories on the training.
