June 24th, 1971
The Roger Blough was an ore carrier docked in the Lorain Shipyards, it caught fire near the engine room, killing four workers. The Lorain Fire Department battled the blaze for days, and suffered multiple injuries, not to mention serious long-term health effects.

A cool picture, literally, from a big hotel fire on Broadway in 1936. This was one of the few rooms untouched by fire (but not untouched by water used to extinguish it...and freezing temperatures of course).
